Greetings...

I am sure it's a quick one for you savvy folks, but for me... well...

I am trying to
Code:
emerge xfce4-panelmenu

and I am getting
Code:

mulo 18:59:52 root # emerge xfce4-panelmenu
Calculating dependencies
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "xfce4-panelmenu" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- xfce-extra/xfce4-panelmenu-0.3.1 (masked by: ~sparc keyword)
- xfce-extra/xfce4-panelmenu-0.2.1 (masked by: ~sparc keyword)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook.

how do I get rid of this message to emerge that xfce util?

thanks,

try :

Code:
echo xfce-extra/xfce4-panelmenu ~sparc >> /etc/portage/package.keywords

create this directory if it doesn't exist

more information about the /etc/portage/* files with man portage
HTH.

Code:

mulo 19:32:02 root # ls -al /etc/portage/
total 5
drwxr-xr-x   3 root portage 1024 Oct 27  2004 .
drwxr-xr-x  49 root root    3072 Jun  8 19:32 ..
drwxrwsr-x   2 root portage 1024 Oct 27  2004 sets

You know Jicman, that Sparc 10 in the office next to yours has ~sparc as a default. Just put ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~sparc" in your make.conf... no guts no glory I always say, which is why I end up borrowing your sparc64 boot disk a lot
