|

I've had this sun e250 for a while and it has a fresh(ish) install of gentoo, linux-2.6.10-gentoo-r6 and has worked fine for a while (occational locks but otherwise fine) but I've just moved and it powers off all the time now. I dont think its heat, but just to rule it out, how would i go about figuring out why its powering off? I dont have solaris installed and 2.6 doesn't seem to mesh with the hardware soo well. nothing obvious has jumped out at me from the logs.... maybe leave in the boot prompt for a few days?
any help would be awesome, thanks

Hi,
I have got two e250's dat do not have that problem.
A temperature problem is probably not what is giving this problem as you need a driver for powering off the machine when temperature is too high.
It seems like an real hardware failure or an unstable 230volts line.
good luck! |
