Well I am not sure what happened. I had ssl working fine with a vhost. However now it does not seem to work.

The server is listening on port 443 however it does not respond to SSL requests on that port only plain text.

I get this error in my logs
"Invalid method in request"

Which after google states that the reason this is happening is because the SSL is not enabled. Well I have the statement "SSLEngine on" in my vhost config.

Some people said use SSLEnable, however when I try that I get the error that it is an unrecognized statement from apache.

running:
apache 1.3.27-r3
openssl 0.9.6i
mod_ssl 2.8.12-r1

thanks

Well I scrapped my apache configs, and started fresh. Problem solved, strange thing I have not changed my configs in over a month and have not had any issues. I wonder if an update messed me up.
