This is a problem and a solution (Thanks to jkroon) post.

Problem Quasar 1.4.5 Accounting package from linuxcanada refuses to compile on my box. Specifically compilation fails fairly early with the following error:

System: Athlon64(754 2800Mhz) 2GB RAM
Gentoo 2005.0 (upgraded from 2004.3)
sys-devel/gcc-3.4.3-r1
sys-devel/binutils-2.15.92.0.2-r7

Solution: A fellow gentooer with a better understanding of C++ has a bug/enhancement ebuild and patches
