Is there a definitive guide for installing 3Com's PCI wireless networking card? I've seen one or two references, but nothing explicitly for Gentoo and the 3CWRE777a.

Your best bet is figuring out what chipset is used on that card, and then following instructions for that. The steps will probably be the same.
