I recently upgraded some packages, including the kernel. Now, when it boots and reaches runlevel 3, it says "WARNING: /etc/init.d/*cron missing". Also, when it goes to mount the network filesystems, it says "/sbin/runscript.sh: line 36: [: too many arguments". I've waded through many topics to no avail. Help will be appreciated! |

I have vcron installed. I tried re-emerging baselayout and I got it to work. Although, I still have the "/sbin/runscript.sh: line 36: [: too many arguments" error. To me, it makes no sense. I took a look at line 36 in that file, and it was just a comment. |

it's line #36 in the interpreted file, not in the interpreter. that's probably /etc/init.d/netmount, isn't it?. if you need any further help, pleas post:- your baselayout version
- your bash version
- output of
output of Code: | $ md5sum /etc/init.d/netmount |

I have this problem. I tried remerging cron and baselayout but I still get Quote: | * WARNING: /etc/init.d/cron missing; skipping...
|
Any other suggestions? |

Show us the output of
Code: | $ ls -l /etc/runlevels/default/*cron |
and
Code: | $ ls -l /etc/init.d/*cron |

Never mind, fixed it. I didn't understand that "*cron" meant "vcron". (Saw that in a msg to another newbie.) I just had to Quote: | rc-update add vcron default
| and I was all set! Thanks nevertheless. _________________ -ls
