Can someone tell me how to do this...I have lots of movies and music on this drive and I wanna put it on my linux box cause the other computer died. I don't want to have to clean it...Can I do this and if so can someone tell me how...I am pretty new to Linux.

Thanks.

Yes. All you need to do is install the windows HD into the linux box, and provide an entry in FSTAB pointing to the new harddrive, and you'll be good to go.

Somthing like this:

/dev/hdb1 /mnt/windows vfat defaults,users,auto 0 0

of course if it's NTFS then change the vfat to ntfs.

then mkdir /mnt/windows

mount /dev/hdb1 /mnt/windows.

This is how it worked for me. Hope this helps.

Kewl...I got the drive in there, but now I have one other question...

What should I set in the FSTAB to allow me to have read access to this drive?

This is what I have in my fstab

/dev/hdb1 /mnt/windows ntfs auto,ro,gid=100,unmask=222 0 0

I have permission to the drive now...but i don't see any of the folders within it...unless I am root
