Hi all,
I've just switched from a 2.4.x kernel to a 2.6.x kernel on my Sun Netra T1125. I seem to have a problem with my serial console now. In 2.4 I got a nice login prompt, but not anymore.
I see the kernel boot messages on my console, however, I don't see the output from the Gentoo rc scripts and I don't get a prompt.
Is there something that I forgot to put in my kernel? Or is this normal?
Kind regards,
T. |

Hello,
2.6 is not a good ida on Sparc systems right now, particularly SMP ones such as the Ultra60.
Console support has been a bit flaky with the recent kernels as well, but are secondary to the main issues (hard locks)

Well, than I have a problem I want to be able to run KDE on my Netra, but it seems that on the 2.4.x kernel, Kicker crashes. It doesn't crash on 2.6.x, but then again I also need serial console and stable system...
Any suggestions? |

Ok, tried running KDE 3.4 and 3.3.2 with kernel 2.6.x, kicker still crashes.
Any suggestions? |
