|
|
Hey guys,
Ok, I'm learning DNS/mail/etc... So far I've setup BIND/courier-imapd/postfix.
I've setup a little internal DNS so that I can ping computers like:
mail.littlelan
cool.littlelan
etc etc
littlelan is a list in bind. I can dig and ping these addresses no problemo.
Problem comes when I send email through postfix. In the error log /var/log/mail/current it shows the problem
... to=<root@littlelan.littlelan>, relay=none, delay=0, status=bounced (Name service error for name=littlelan.littlelan type=A: Host not found)
Yep I can understand why... but how do I make it that emails get sent to root@littlelan instead of root@littlelan.littlelan! It seems like postfix is renaming the addresses....
Any ideas?

also take a look at you postfix chrooted environment.
in Mandrake this can be found in /var/spool/postfix
specifically take a look at /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts and /var/spool/postfix/etc/resolv.conf |

Hey guys!
Thanks so much for the response, and I found the answer today!
I just read a little on Postfix address manipulation and figured out the switch I need.
Thanks for the responses |
