Has anyone got the madwifi drivers to work on their ppc machine? Recently I bought a Netgear wg511t because I heard it worked on linux with the madwifi driver, however I did not check if it worked with ppc. When I tried installing it I noticed that none of the packages for ppc in the repository are available to download since they are untested or broken. I'd be interested in hearing from other PPC users who have an Atheros card. |

madwifi drivers compile and load fine on my 1.25GHz aluminium Powerbook5,4.
I checked out the latest cvs snapshot (rather than using the ebuild).
For PPC you need to export a couple of environment variables before the make will succeed:
Code: | export TARGET=powerpc-be-eabi
export KERNELRELEASE=2.6.9
export KERNELPATH=/usr/src/linux-2.6.9
export TOOLPREFIX=/usr/bin/
make
make install |
should about do it.
(see http://madwifiwiki.thewebhost.de/wiki/Ppc)
I bought a D-Link DWL-AG650 (hardware revision B2) which, sadly, is not currently supported by the madwifi HAL. I'll just have to wait for a new HAL to be released. :(
ciao
