Have you tried one nic at a time? You know shutdown pull one & boot, see if it loads and get its info with "ifconfig -a". Shutdown pull it plugin the other one & see if it works. It could be one of them is broke or not seated right or in a bad pci slot. Heck if nothing else this will give you something to do till someone smart comes along

cat /proc/pci gives me:
Code:

  Bus  0, device   8, function  0:
Ethernet controller: Lite-On Communications Inc LNE100TX (rev 32).
      IRQ 10.
      Master Capable.  Latency=32.
      I/O at 0xe400 [0xe4ff].
      Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xe5001000 [0xe50010ff].
  Bus  0, device  10, function  0:
Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8029(AS) (rev 0).
      IRQ 11.
      I/O at 0xe800 [0xe81f].

so both cards are here, and working :?

i think you need to use the DECchip Tulip driver for the LNE100TX card instead of ne2k-pci.
