I'm having a rather strange problem with setting up my cvspserver... well, it seems strange to me, but I'm sure there's gotta be a configuration reason for it...

I setup my cvspserver according to the following thread... setting up cvspserver and for some reason I can't do a login to cvs via
Code:
cvs login
. I've got my CVSROOT set to
Code:
CVSROOT=:pserver:me@whereimat:/usr/local/cvsroot
, but for whatever reason when I do a cvs login i get the following results...
Code:
bash-2.05b$ cvs login
Logging in to :pserver:me@whereimat:2401/usr/local/cvsroot
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: reading from server: Connection reset by peer
.

Anyone know what's going on here?

Thanks,

I just went through this.

If the repository is on a different computer than the one you are running cvs login on then look at https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=35747

If you are logging in from the same machine as the repository then look at

http://www.cvshome.org/docs/manual/cvs_21.html#SEC184

Hope that helps

Oh you know... now I feel like an idiot!

But first let me say thank you very much... for some reason third time's a charm! ;)

I saw that somewhere else in a different thread as well, but I couldn't find the only_from parameter anywhere... and that's 'cause I was looking in
Code:
/etc/xinetd.d/cvspserver
as opposed to
Code:
/etc/xinetd.conf

Doh :!:

Thanks so much for bringing my attention to it again,
