Still waiting for Jabber ID in the profile, I took a quick look into phpBB forums and found this: "phpBB 2.2 is no more ... meet Olympus"
Only question is: When will it be out and will Gentoo Forums use it? :) _________________ psylove |

I've been using this mod on some forums of mine. It works well, and is very simple (since it just displays the jabber ID in the user profile, rather than allowing you to actually send a message to someone from the forums, like phpBB3 will). |

Jabber support will be added very soon. _________________ "To have a successful open source project, you need to be at least somewhat successful at getting along with people." -- Daniel Robbins |

With the errors some of us were getting ~30 minutes ago, I would have thought that the upgrade of the board to 2.0.12 was to throw in Jabber support. |

Well.. you're almost right. Jabber support is already in cvs. I just forget to remove the modifications when updating the cvs-version to 2.0.12. That's why the errors occured. _________________ "To have a successful open source project, you need to be at least somewhat successful at getting along with people." -- Daniel Robbins |

It's nice to see the jabber button added.
I've noticed that KDE / Kopete doesn't support the jabber: protocol like it does the aim: protocol and also doesn't work with the xmpp: protocol (which I thought was for jabber) for a URI like we have now on the jabber button. I'm curious who/what by default supports the jabber: for a URI? My searching doesn't come up with much except for xmpp: which is supposedly for jabber URI? I know that mozilla products can be tweaked to handle this but konqueror seems to be lacking for an easy option. The XMPP URI Specs are still a draft is probably the reason for lack of support I'd guess.
Anyway, it's nice to see the jabber button down here. |

Yeah, you should read RFC for XMPP, the link for Jabber contact should be xmpp:nick@server.com _________________ http://www.hapi.pl |

I've changed it to use xmpp: instead of jabber:. _________________ "To have a successful open source project, you need to be at least somewhat successful at getting along with people." -- Daniel Robbins |
