Sound level in xine and xmms is just too low. And if I increase dB in xmms equalizer, the sound will get very bad, corney and crunchy. (hope I use the right words here bad at english)
This is not a problem in Windows. Is there any master volume controler?

assuming you are using alsa you can run alsamixer from the command line (nice little ncurses interface). The relevant controls are the master volume and the pcm volume. |
