Sound level in xine and xmms is just too low. And if I increase dB in xmms equalizer, the sound will get very bad, corney and crunchy. (hope I use the right words here  bad at english)
This is not a problem in Windows. Is there any master volume controler?

| assuming you are using alsa you can run alsamixer from the command line (nice little ncurses interface). The relevant controls are the master volume and the pcm volume. |
