I just emerged Gnome 2.2. I have been using KDE and I use KMail. I want to try Evolution, but it requires a downgrade in gnome-base/control-center. Do I have to wait for Evolution 1.3 or is there some way I can use 1.2 in Gnome 2.2?

It won't downgrade, they will co-exist..

I've tried to figure out any dependencies for the control-center 1.4. I have both gtk+ 1.2.10-r9 and gtk +2.2.1 installed to see if that fixed it, but no luck. That looks like it might be needing GConf 1, from the name of the library it can't find - although that's odd, because you'd expect it to fail to find the headers if it needs that and it's not installed.

It looks like I have gconf installed. Maybe I should try reinstalling it? Any other suggestions. Thanks for your help.
