i'm currently using Xinerama with two cards/monitors. i can only watch video on one screen. when i drag a video window over to the other screen i get a blue box, or just frozen frames of the video. any explanation for this? any way around this so that i can move video windows wherever i want? should i be using a specific video driver (xv, sdl, etc...) in order to get this feature? any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. |

I used to have this problem too but it went away when I did my last major hardware change i.e. processor, video cards, switch from redhat to gentoo, etc.
I'm currently using qtvision using xv. I can watch TV or video in either window. About the only time I have a problem is when I try to drag an active window from one screen to another. When the window spans 2 screens I only get a picture on the right screen. As soon as the entire window has been dragged to the left screen, the picture moves. This isn't a problem since I don't expect xv to handle half a picture on 2 video cards. Even if xv could handle splitting the video across 2 screens, I couldn't. |
