|
|
I am working with Gentoo on a laptop (Thinkpad A30p) with two internal network adapters: eepro100 and prism2_pci are my modules. I don't want the modules in modules.autoload because I am not always plugged in or near an access point and the hotplug net.agent tries to bring up the interfaces as soon as the modules are loaded.
I have created an entry in /etc/modules.d/aliases that says:
Code: | alias eepro100 eth0 |
I have run modules-update, and the entry shows up in /etc/modules.conf, however running /etc/init.d/net.eth0 start returns "No such device" from dhcpcd.
Am I missing something? Shouldn't the kernel automounter take over and modprobe the aliased module?
Code: | thinkpad linux # grep KMOD .config
CONFIG_KMOD=y
