|
|
I have a small server within my intranet. I'd like to have a small web site, so that I set up apache.
I'd like to be able to load my pages through FTP typing something like:
Code: | ftp://192.168.254.20 |
and then dragging and dropping into httpdocs (I wish Ialready was into ../httpdocs after authenticating)
So, the question is:
Which ftp-server is best suited and how do I configure it (simple guidelines)?
NB: Never installed a FTP-Server anywhere !!!
NB: I''m trying to get what any Hosting-Servece gives....
Thanks |

i like pure-ftpd, are you trying ot setup a hosting service? pure supports virtual users or just system users you could create a user for each domain you host and set the users ftp home directory to ~/public_html |

I installed pure-ftpd. I started it without modifying anything (just the server address..). Then I loaded windows explorer )-: and typed:
Code: | ftp://192.168.254.20/ |
I expected a form to pop up asking for user and pasword but it didn't !
the problem must be connected with the FTP's configuration, since the expexted behaviour happens if I log into my provider's FTP-server.
Does anyone know how to fix that ?
Thanks |
