The other thing I've found quite interesting is Mana World - it's a slash'n'dash (whatever that means) MMORPG that looks exactly like the SNES classic The Secret of Mana ...but maybe it's still in too early development to be put into portage. |
Well helping out with the ebuild would be greatly appreciated since it's a tricky one:
The first thing is that it uses 2 libraries that (afaik) aren't in the Portage yet: JGMOD and AllegroFont. On top of that it's depending on the Allegro 4.1-branch, which is currently marked as unstable in the Portage (on most of the target architectures).
It's true that the game is still in early development (in a pre-alpha stage, I think), but still, it's a Linux game that lacks an ebuild. Anyone feeling like helping out (at least with the dependancies)? |

I've managed to make Dungeon Crawl work thanks to this thread, but I see over a year has passed since Pythonhead made an ebuild for it, yet I can't find it in bugzilla or anywhere else...It's a pity more people can't enjoy that game. Does anyone know why it doesn't make it to portage?
Another great game (if you like roguelikes) that doesn't have an ebuild is NPPAngband. It is one of the most actively developed Angband variants. I -have- tried to make an ebuild for it starting from an existing one (the angband ebuild), but I don't know enough to do it right. Someone more knowledgeable should probably try ;P _________________ "Give a man a fire and he will be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life"

If this thread is going to be sticky, shouldn't someone take the time to continue updating the first post, it seems the last time it was updated was in APRIL. _________________ Before you insult someone, it is often best to walk a mile in their shoes.

Theres no ebuild for this yet, and i realise it will probably require a lot of work so i'm not really demanding one () just pointing this one out:

I'd like to see JonoF's Duke Nukem 3D port (JFDuke3D) including hi-res textures in portage!

The demo for Uplink.
Coolest Indie Game Ever? Pretty damned likely!
(I'll grant you, the game's not open source, but an ebuild would still be nice.) _________________ LAZOR ATTACK OLOZL ^_________________^ |

Heroes3 needs ebuild that works on x86_64 (amd64). _________________ Hulis from cold Finland, where the polar bears sleep on back yard. I can be found from #gentoo.fi @ircnet |

Head over heels (remake
with new graphics)
there is a linux version here
manual installation is very easy: just untar, log as root and run
#./install
then #hoh to play and (from root) #hoh-uninstall to uninstall.
some tips for dependencies are in the txt file inside the tar archive. _________________ Every day a new distro comes to birth. Every day a distro "eats" another.
