"The GUI needs GTK 1.2.x (it isn't fully GTK, but the panels are). The skins are stored in PNG format, so gtk, libpng (and their devel stuff, usually called gtk-dev and libpng-dev) has to be installed. You can build it by specifying --enable-gui during ./configure."
Is it possible to do this using emerge?
Also, does anyone know what YUV acceleration is? |

| i believe the ebuild has some part about putting an option in your USE settings that will automatically compile with gui support. |

| If you have gtk in your USE then the gui will be compiled automigically. |
