|
|
Hi,
I'm following the SPARC installation handbook in Gentoo's webpage:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-sparc.xml?full=1
I'm now at step 8c, where I'm asked to change the root password.
However, the strange thing is that when I type passwd, whenever I type in the first character, the following error occurs:
BAD PASSWORD: It's WAY too short
But I didn't press Enter button. I have a typical Sun keyboard in my machine. I'm wondering where I did wrong.
Thanks.

Update: When I type in "passwd" and then leave it alone (i.e. not putting in passwords), the same error still happens. It's as though the Enter key is pressed periodically. So, I don't know how to fix this. Please help. :) |

I resolve this situation by rebooting through the CD and do the chroot all over again.
This is weird. |
