Hello all,
I'm trying to play a DVD through my TV-out.
The DVD has a "anamorphic" size of 16:9. On my monitor it has a "normal" size of appx 1024 in the X direction, so I'll need to shrink it in order to play it on my tv.
Here's the problem: although I am using the nvidia driver and playback is great, I am unable to make the playback windows smaller. That is , I CAN resize the window ,but the video inside stays the same and is just cropped off. Scaling up is no problem except for bad smoothing in the Y-direction, but I can live with that.
Is there a way or setting to tell xv to scale down the image? Is it a limitaion in my hardware combined with the nvidia driver? (also tried the latest).
I have this with any playback program like xine and mplayer.
Anyone? |

uhm.....
I also have a TNTII, but my problem is with -vo gl2, when I use it via the command line, it always start stuff FULLSCREEN, but if I do something like gmplayer -vo gl2 and then start something, mplayer crashes. Odd... _________________ Lego my ego, and I'll lego your knowledge

i'm using a tnt2 as well and get exactly the same problem... so maybe it is hardware related. i will keep looking around. _________________ "if an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared." - niccolò machiavelli |

I have a tnt 1 in one system and using the xv output driver it scales video just fine using either xine or mplayer.
xv = xvideo. It's designed to play video. There's no reason you'd want to use anything else including gl2. (well except xvmc which isn't supported by any major players yet afaik) |
