|

Whenever X is killed with alt+ctl+bksp my machine turns off . The
only time I have the fluke is when X is killed. Does anyone know if any werid signals are sent when X is killed?
I noticed a hotkey setting in my bios... I thaught I have fully disabled it though.
Machine:
P4 2.4Ghz
Soyo Dragon Lite Mobo
SiS chipset
GForce2
I am under the assumption that my whole problems stem from my motherboard. But, I wanted to see if anyone else if having this problem.
Thanks all! |

I think we found a solution for your problem.. my friend is busy installing gentoo on his ECS/Athlon/SIS system which happens to do the exact same thing as your systems... ctrl + alt + backspace rudely turn's the computer off. You will probably find a setting in your bios that will diseble this feature. (yes it is a feature) :S
anyway good luck

Is it under Power Management as "Hot Key Function As"?
The manual says this "Enables you to set the power button function in DOS." I wish they were more detailed about this. Anyway, I disabled this to see how it works. _________________ An Evil Genious' Guide to Sheeple and How To Avoid Becoming One | 0x4C9EF4A |

I too have this problem. I've got an ECS K7S5A motherboard and have set "Enables you to set the power button function in DOS" to Disable.
