I have tried on the mailing list, but no one seems to have a solution that works for me.
I have ALSA installed according to the Alsa guide. i made the changes to remove snd_ prefix in /etc/modules.d/alsa. It all seems to load.
I have followed the instructions for unmuting. I have confirmed the speakers actually work and are in the right jack. No sound.
I do not have a /dev/dsp, I have a /dev/dspW which is a symlink to /dev/sound/dspW.
Ideas? |

I run an ES1370... but on OSS. There was no reason for me to use ALSA; why are you doing so?
Apart from the unmuting _and_ increasing the volume things, check the gains... basically put everything up to 80%!
One thing to watch out for is that the ES1370 can be configured to have two different audio devices; try both. |

Why? Recommendations from the mailing list. Everyone seems to be able to get it to work with a SB PCI 128 excet me. I had tried OSS but it did not work either. |

Ok, started over. Used OSS. Works. Finally. |
