My SBlive runs fine with emu10k1 support compiled into the kernel. Is there any reason for me to emerge the ebuild and tools that come with it?
Thanks,

Mine sounded fine with the kernel-ones too. The tools that come with it allow you to enable some extra functions like AC3-passthrough and bass/treble controls. If you don't compile a kernel everytime a new one comes out you can update the emu10k1-drivers bij emerging the emu10k1-ebuild. Otherwise I think you won't notice a lot of difference. I didn't (running 2.4.20, so the emu10k1 modules should be recent). |
