My SBlive runs fine with emu10k1 support compiled into the kernel. Is there any reason for me to emerge the ebuild and tools that come with it?

| Mine sounded fine with the kernel-ones too. The tools that come with it allow you to enable some extra functions like AC3-passthrough and bass/treble controls. If you don't compile a kernel everytime a new one comes out you can update the emu10k1-drivers bij emerging the emu10k1-ebuild. Otherwise I think you won't notice a lot of difference. I didn't (running 2.4.20, so the emu10k1 modules should be recent). |
