Code:

iBook:/Users/loki root# emerge -v system

!!! INVALID ACCEPT_KEYWORDS: macos
Calculating system dependencies \
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "dev-python/python-fchksum" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- dev-python/python-fchksum-1.6.1-r1 (masked by: missing keyword)
- dev-python/python-fchksum-1.7.1 (masked by: ~ppc keyword)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook.
!!!    (dependency required by "sys-apps/portage-2.0.51-r3" [ebuild])

!!! Problem with ebuild sys-apps/portage-2.0.51-r3
!!! Possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.

!!! Depgraph creation failed.
iBook:/Users/loki root#

I don't understand what's going on here. Is the macos keyword depreciated?

Hi,
it seems that portage has unresolved dependencies. The ebuild it needs is masked by portage. Either you have to unmask it or use a keyword. I'd prefer the first one.
Kind regards,

Actually, the macos keyword has been depreciated for quite a while now, the reason it shows up as a dependancy problem is because the macos keyword no longer exists. Please change your keyword to ppc-macos.

I assume this is to avoid confusion between the ppc and ppc64 ebuilds?

EDIT: Well I cannot get 'emerge system' to work either. It dies trying to compile debianutils.

Code:

>>> Test phase [not enabled]: sys-apps/debianutils-1.16.7-r4

>>> Install debianutils-1.16.7-r4 into /var/tmp/portage/debianutils-1.16.7-r4/image/ category sys-apps
>>> dosbin: making installkernel executable...
install: --group=root: No such file or directory

I'm not very good with ebuilds and whatnot but it looks like it's trying to install in the wrong directory. Anyone have any ideas?

Reasoning behind the new keyword:
http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/glep/glep-0022.html

Fix for the problem you've mentioned:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=235758

This is fixed in newer versions of portage, the version you have installed does not have this fix.

First off, thanks for the help so far. I was able to complete emerge system with anymore problems but I didn't follow in the instructions for injecting all the perl stuff anf upgrading portage since I'm already at 2.0.51-r3.

I'm trying to give the torsmo ebuild a whirl, but I can't find a way to add the correct keyword. 'ekeyword ppc-macos torsmo' doesn't seem to work. Am I using the wrong keyword?
