Quake3 1.32 - Punkbuster Problem

As you know, this patch includes punkbuster client/server. I installed the pointrelease, including punkbuster. I started the game and enabled PB, as verified in the console. In the middle of a match, I am "kicked by punkbuster" and now I cannot enable the punkbuster client via autoexec.cfg, console or GUI. Anyone else experience this wonderful "feature" of PB?

This sounds like a problem I had with pb under RTCW. What does \pb_plist in console return during a match? If it has anything to do with updating pb, you should visit http://www.evenbalance.com and check out their download and support pages. Well, you should probably check out this site anyway. I found that running pbweb.x86 to manually update pb solved my problem, but there are other solutions there as well. If you can't solve the problem, you should probably post the message returned by pb as you get kicked, to further enlighten people regarding your problem.

I have the same exact problem. I have to manually update punkbuster or just reinstall the point release all together to get it to work. This is really fucking ridiculous, ID sort of forced this shitty, buggy program on us and there is not much that we can do about it. I would like to see this fixed in the near future.

I found a patch at evenbalance that purports to fix it. Haven't played since applying the patch so I'll let you know. I agree about ID including this half-baked sh!t in their point releases. It is irresponsible. Frankly, we all know that all anticheaing measures are quickly circumvented by the better hackers within days, if not hours, anyway. What a big circle-jerk. I just want to play Q3.
