sorry if this is a little off topic for a linux forum but i know when it comes to hardware a lot of people have to use the flash update to get stuff working so someone here is bound to know.
i am trying to update my Ultra 10 (like you couldn't have guessed) and am running into a problem. i seem to be booting from the correct device (defined as mydev using nvalias) and i've gotten hold of the flash update and done as it says (copying lastest into / and chmod'ing it). but when i run
boot mydev /flash-update-Ultra510-latest
it loads the sparc kernel (i presume) and exits with
'Fatal Error: Multiple loadable segments in you ELF image'
what does this mean? i'm not sure if it doesn't like the flash-update file or whether its complaining about a partitioned disk
cheers

I haven't tried loading it off of the disk, but if you netboot the flash update image, you can upgrade it that way (IIRC, the flash update docs talks about it a little) |

Also, if you have second disk, where you can temporarily install solaris, you can deal with the
instructions, you have. You can download Solaris 9 and 10 from Sun's site:
http://wwws.sun.com/software/solaris/binaries/get_sparc_dl.html
You have to register before access to download site.
Easier will be, if you find the disks near you. _________________ /tmp. |
