Can you post some more details?
Are you sure your network connection is working after the reboot? Try pinging a website (like in the installation instructions). If that works, post some errors that you are getting... does it just say "download aborted" or is there more? |

Did you set up your networking correctly during install? |

Try typing the following when you are logged in as root:
Code: |
cat /etc/resolv.conf
|
The "cat" command will show the contents of a file, and the resolv.conf file should contain a DNS server IP. Hopefully you will see something like:
Code: | bash-2.05b$ cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 192.168.0.1
|
Mine is 192.168.0.1 because I am behind a router. The DNS IPs should be given to you by your ISP, in fact you must have used them to configure the network in the first place. If the resolv.conf file is empty, you can just edit it and add the DNS IP. |

Hmm, 192.168.0.1 is what some versions of gentoo sets as the default nameserver. You probably have a diffrent nameserver.
Before you start fiddling around with that though make sure that your ethernet card is loaded.
What is the output of
if you run the command as root? |
