Hi,

Does "emerge world" takes changes in the USE variable into account ? I mean, if I add something into my USE variable, is their a way to make all the packages that may be affected but are already installed being rebuilt ?

Thanks,

I think if you do that it would work. But I have never tried it myself and am not 100% sure that it would work. I would suggest trying it on a spare system or in something like vmware first just to make sure that it works.

Hope this helps.

No it doesn't take changes in USE into acount, but it would provides a need feature if it did. It will only use the new USE when updating/rebuilding packages. Maybe you could drop it in the forum SUGGESTIONS, think its a very usefull feature and not very difficult to implement.
