I'd like to use modlogan on a K6-200... understandable without X

I've checked the documentation -> there's no need for X, but

Code:
 emerge  modlogan

always gives back this list:

Code:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild  N   ] dev-libs/libxml-1.8.17-r2
[ebuild  N   ] dev-libs/libxml2-2.4.24
[ebuild  N   ] media-libs/freetype-1.3.1-r3
[ebuild  N   ] net-libs/adns-1.0
[ebuild  N   ] dev-db/mysql-3.23.54a
[ebuild  N   ] media-libs/freetype-2.1.2-r2
[ebuild  N   ] x11-misc/ttmkfdir-3.0.4
[ebuild  N   ] app-arch/cabextract-0.6
[ebuild  N   ] media-libs/fontconfig-2.1
[ebuild  N   ] x11-base/opengl-update-1.5
[ebuild  N   ] x11-base/xfree-4.2.1-r2
[ebuild  N   ] app-admin/modlogan-0.7.18

Any ideas which feature i have to disable to get it to work without X?

Note: I've disabled X in make.conf

probably not the best answer, but you could install it without portage:
go to their site download the source and compile it yourself.

PS: Before you do this wait a while for better answers

yeah, sure, but I'd prefer to tweak the ebuild a little bit, or some similar trick - perhaps there are some useflags i miss or the like.... its just that i like portage very much and i thought that i am through with hunting down dependencies for manual installations ;)

and i had similar problems with webalizer (though i'd prefer modlogan) - which left me processing logfiles on a different machine and retransfering the results, which - to put put it nicely - is not a very profound solution to my problem....

thx anyway...

It looks X is a hard dependency for modlogan. Try removing the "virtual/x11" depend line from the ebuild and test if it compiles successfully.

changed the ebuild as suggested and modlogan compiled without problems :) - got to check what is missing in its functionality... if it works, it may be a little bit too dependend ;)
