I'm trying to switch complety to a desktop linux system as this Win98 I'm using is really driving me nuts. Hangs up over and over again.
So I was trying to get all the tools I need to get my every day job done. I am also counting on getting nice eye-candy and low memory/cpu footprints.
My desktop machine specs (spent my money on servers sorry)
Pentium MMX 233 - 128 MB RAM - 6,4 GB IDE HD - M571 mobo (txpro II) sound on board - 8mb PCI video card (don't remember chipset)
Thinking in:
Openbox / Waimea - Wm (I really like AA support)
Galeon / Phoenix - Browser
Balsa / Sylphead / Other? - Mail Client
Jabber Client (not decided yet) - IM
OpenOffice (bloated but good) / AbiWord+Gnumeric - Word Proc/Spread.
The problem is I'm missing something to replace PicoPhone. This one lets me talk with my brother through NAT (no sip, no h323, just UDP).
Does anybody know an app like picophone with nat support for linux & win?.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Luis. |

I've used it in a rh8 system, and I know it has nat support but I'd prefer something more lightweight and not based on h323 or sip.
do you know one?
thanks for your reply. |

Looks interesting.
I'll try it on Win and give some feedback.
Thanks very much. |
