When a cardbus card is inserted to the system, I guess both pcmcia-cs and hotplug will recognize the card and try to config it. Is there any conflict about this two services?
I emerged both "pcmcia-cs" and "hotplug" package. Right now I use hotplug to config my 1394 cardbus host adapter. It works fine. But I don't know if I use both services to config the card, what will happen. |

The pcmcia-cs is the driver for the pcmcia card
Hotplug loads the driver !
In my kernelconfig I comment out everything what depends on pcmcia so that pcmcia-cs build the drivers and no kerneldrivers will be used. pcmcia-cs has often more newer and (for me) better modules than the kernel.
If you do so too, hotplug and pcmcia-cs will work fine for you _________________ Notebook: Toshiba Satellite 3000-514|1 GHz PIII mobile, 512 MB PC133 RAM|Nvidia GeForce 2 go 16 MB DDR (1.0-3123)
