Any ideas? I have all dependancies installed.

I know this is cheating, but unless I am mistaken, oo binaries are also part of the portage tree. I think you Code: | emerge openoffice-bin | or something simular. This is what I had to do as my compiles always failed (after a looooooong time compiling) and frankly, I only wanted open office for a very occasional task. YMMV. |

Are you using the blackdown jdk? If not, then that is your problem. You will have to momentarily switch to compile oo. It tells you about that before it lets you emerge it. If you are indeed using the blackdown jdk then I really can't tell you what is going wrong since it has worked perfectly all 4 times that I've compiled it.

Will try the bin thing. I am using the blackdown-jdk. it was installed as a dependancy....I followed the directions that it gave me...it is weird because I have done the exact same thing on the same machine in the past and had no problems. |
