I'm having a strange problem here. It poped up on my buddys computer after I recomended he do an emerge -u system (boy do I feel like a dork). Anyway the problem is when kdm runs and you select a sesion type to log in as it dose not execute the script for that seesion. So basicaly no matter what selection you choose you get failsafe. I've verified the scripts are in /etc/X11/Sessions and all users have read and execute rights to it. And KDE works if you type startkde after loging into the failsafe. Also before this happened kdmrc got cooked i think b/c it was showing every user on the system and no sessions I used the login manger within kde to fix kdmrc so it now shows the correct users and sessions. And of course on my machine I've done the same updates and had non of the problems. If anybody has an sugestions at what else this might be and what else I need to look at it woudl be greatly appreciated.
