|
|
Hi, I have a NIS domain for my domestic lan and everything is configured correctly but i just would like to know if someone could explain me a little bit better how nsswitch.conf works in order to control some more features of NIS. I would like to centralize groups and hosts configuration files so that i can configure them once. _________________ Linux! |

nsswitch specifies in which order the OS accesses the file
using hosts as an example:
hosts: nis files
when the OS queries the hosts file, it will go to NIS first, then /etc/hosts
make sense?
