I would like to use my tv to watch movies on using xine, so i have tried using nvtv for this but, it I can't get it to work.
I have a Leadtek GF4 Ti 4400. I have tried searching the forums, but the information I found didn't make much sense to me. I am using nvidias drivers for my graphics card. I am not looking for a way to clone my display, just watch movies on the tv.
What I have done so far is emerging and staring nvtv, but the image I get on the tv (when I press double-F in xine) is all white.
What do I need to do? Please tell me what info you need from me if what I have provided in this (rather confused) description is insufficient.
Sorry for my english, btw. |

You have to use the same version of NVTV that's embedded
in Xine, and I'm sorry to say that I've forgotten whitch
version that is. A tip, look through the souce of xine
somewhere it says what version of NVTV it uses. _________________ Fredrik |

Thanks a lot for the answer, but I think that I am having a problem with nvtv itself aswell.
When i run nvtv, get the dialog with options and turn on tv output from there I still get the same all white picture on the TV.
I have verified from a windows installation that tv output works fine from there. |

nvtv has been slow to catch up with the new nvidia cards....it does not work with many of the geforce 4 cards. |

Hmm... ok, do you know if I can check somewhere which tv-chips should be supported? The chip on my card is a connexant CX25871.
Or has anyone else using the same chip had any luck with tv-out?
I hate being forced to run windows every time I want to watch a movie... |

Ok I can get it to work using a second XF86Config with twinview options in it but this means restarting X .... this works fine on my Geforce 4 card with phillips tv chip....the output fits my TV & looks great ... I will wait until my card is supported in nvtv before I try it again. Some people have NVTV working with some screwing around ..... check here:
