Hey Everybody,

First off, Happy Thanksgiving....

Now to my problem, I have a laptop that I usually use at school at it works nicely, I brought it home for the holiday, and didn't plug it in to a network (we only have dialup at home...ya, kill me)...

So I boot up my laptop and it
Code:
Failed to bring eth0 up
obviously, but then goes on to have Problems starting needed services with mysql, apache, and xinetd....

I can start apache
Code:
apachectl start or /etx/init.d/apache start
without a problem, but php scripts do not execute when I look at them, instead I see the <?php ...... ?> all embedded nicely in the HTML...this is bad for development, does anybody have any ideas ?

Bob

I have noticed, that starting with #apache or #apachectl mixes
somewhow php_modules loading. But I have suceeded starting
with /etc/init.d/apache, and php works without net-connect.

Ooops wrong forum...please move...

I tried /etc/init.d/apache....but no good :(

It tried to bring eth0 up twice, and then had the problem starting needed services again :(

Had the same problem with .php files displaying as text. Started apache via init.d and worked fine. How strange??

I had a similar problem. I'm not sure if this will help, but take a look at: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=22167.

i know this was a while ago but just for the record. The reason it works with /etc/init.d/apache start is because it uses /etc/conf.d/apache which has -D php4 in the command line
