I want to know if the problem is between the keyboard and the chair, or if there really is something...
Ever since I upgraded portage last night, my config files in etc and kde are overwritten automaticaly when I emerge something... Just now, I had to re-edit all my font.conf file, cuz emerging the new fontconfig overwrote it...
Anything changed in the latest portage that could have caused this behavior? |

Did you change your /etc/make.globals file at all? What are CONFIG_PROTECT and CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK set to?

CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /var/qmail/control /usr/share/config /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config"
CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf"
And no, I didnt touch it at all... Though I do remember that after emerging portage, it stopped my emerges (I was doing an update world), and told me to update make.global with the new version...which I never saw (etc-update didnt tell me of any config files needing update...and checking myself didnt show any either). Maybe that has something to do with it? |
