|
|
Hi!
I don't have GNOME2, but I still use some GTK2 apps. I have anti-aliasing enabled (in fact, I don't know how to disable it, but it's another story). My problem is that AA fonts in GTK2 apps (GAIM-cvs, gKrellm2) are very little, I can hardly read anything. Now, I wonder if I can configure how me gnomeapps should look without having GNOME itself installed. Or do I have to emerge control-center??

Try emerging gtk-theme-switch. In addition to letting you change the theme of gtk 2 apps, it also has an option to select the font and font size the apps use. _________________ Kawada

Well, IIRC this will enable AA for GTK2:
GDK_USE_XFT = 1
So maybe this will disable it???
GDK_USE_XFT = 0
Fluxbox has its own way of controlling XFT/AA in the options menu and config files, so you should be able to still have AA enabled in flux. |

The GDK_USE_XFT line is an environment variable, so I have it in my .xinitrc file before I load the window manager. I suppose it could be loaded somehow on startup, too. |

Create a file called 99local (or something similar) in /etc/env.d. Then run env-update and wala... GDK_USE_XFT is set.
Here's my 99local:
Code: |
KDEDIRS=/usr/local/kde
GDK_USE_XFT=1
PATH=/usr/local/kde/bin
LDPATH=/usr/local/kde/lib
