I have an Asus A7N8X motherboard with two onboard lan controllers, but when I load from LiveCD, I don't see either of them as eth0 or eth1. They are enabled in bios. I was just wondering if they are treated somehow differently than regular PCI NIC.
Thanks! |

Hello.
According to my flying monkeys, NVidia only added NForce2 support to their linux NForce driver on the 26th of November. As such, the driver support is unlikely to have made its way into the distribution ISO just yet.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :-/ My advice would be to borrow another networking device, such as a USB ethernet adapter or similar for your install, and then download and install NVidias driver.

I have an extra PCI 3COM NIC I can use, I just thought I wouldn't have to since I had 2 onboard ones already. Thanks for letting me know! I'll do just that. |

Just wanted to say that I got an Asus P4T533 motherboard and it got a Intel Pro 100 VE card onboard. I had problems getting it to work. Found out after some hairpulling that it was the 'Plug'n'Play' option that was on in the BIOS. _________________ ~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~'¨'~
