Code:
# mount /dev/hda5 /mnt/gentoo
# mkdir /mnt/DATI
# mount -t nfs 192.168.0.254:/mnt/DATI /mnt/DATI
# cd /mnt/gentoo
# tar cvjf /mnt/DATI/backup.tar.bz2 ./

# make_reiser4 /dev/hda5
# mkswap /dev/hda6 (partizione swap)
# mkreiserfs /dev/hda7 (partizione /boot) (modificare poi /etc/fstab)
# mount /dev/hda5 /mnt/gentoo
# cd /mnt/gentoo
# mount -t nfs 192.168.0.254:/mnt/DATI /mnt/DATI
# tar xvjf /mnt/DATI/backup.tar.bz2
# chroot /mnt/gentoo
# nano /boot/grub/grub.conf (modificare (hd0,x) in maniera corretta)
# grub (per creare l'mbr aggiornato)
# exit
# fsck.reiser4 /dev/hda5 (per sicurezza)

3. Riavviare

lxnay from other threads it seems using tar to backup and restoring to reiser4 is a REALLY bad idea and you will hit a rather massive performance drop.

While I dont know italian, you might wanna look around and find a better solution, such as rsync?

grazie!

why using tar is a bad idea? I never heard a thing like this. I'm using tar since I was a kid and I never encountered problems. In my opinion tar is easiest to use.

Update your mirror NOW! :)
I'm uploading 1.1 bz2 compressed ISO right now on scarlet.nl source.
If you want to wait until I've finished, you would be able to download the compressed one.

We'll use bz2 compressed archives from now.

This is so great, I can't await to do a fresh install on my workstation, I never thought for myself that I'm gonna use reiser4 that soon. :)

But I'll have to wait for your v1.2, as I also need sshd on that box to be a able to proceed with the installationl
