PostPosted: Fri Aug 27, 2004 1:15 am    Post subject: Anyone interesting in used Oreilly books? Reply with quote

I have a bunch of Oreilly books that are still rather new, not obsolete yet. I am selling everything I possibly can to avoid having to pawn my guitar (what a cliche, huh? oh well...) Take a look at the list of books. The prices are what I had them up on ebay for, most 70% or more off list price. Send me an email to newcomer.26 AT osu.edu if anyone is interested....

$17.99 Linux Security by Ramon J. Hontanon (2001)
$14.99 Programming Php by Bob Kaehms, Kevin Tatroe, Rasmus
$7.99 Perl and Cgi for the World Wide Web by Elizabeth Castro
$7.99 Unix by Deborah S. Ray, Eric J. Ray (1998)
$15.99 Peter Norton's Complete Guide to Linux by Arthur Gri
$17.99 PC Hardware by Craig Zacker, John Rourke (2000)
$12.99 Sams Teach Yourself Java 2 in 21 Days by Laura Lemay
$17.99 Dynamic Html the Definitive Reference by Danny Goodm
$10.99 Sams Teach Yourself SQL in 24 Hours by Ron Plew, Ron
$12.99 Perl for System Administration by David N. Blank-Ede
$12.99 Practical C Programming by Steve Oualline (1997)
$12.99 Perl Cookbook by Nathan Torkington, Tom Christiansen

Media Mail shipping is dirt cheap.

I apologize in advance if this post is out of line or in the wrong place.

I can cut the price a little for someone who wants a couple, but $20 for the lot is ridiculous. Sorry...

Bash,

Take my advice: sell the guitar and keep reading.

:)

I'd be interested in the Practical C and Programming PHP books, and maybe also in the Linux Security depending on the price. Maybe $20 for the 3 of 'em?

$40 for the 3 + Free Shipping and you got a deal.

Keep in mind these books cost anywhere from $25-$50 new. And most of these books are the newest edition.

I assume you're in the states...

If so, do you ship to The Netherlands? I think one of those books is on my required books list for college...

I can ship to the Netherlands if necessary. That just depends on how much you want to spend on shipping and/or how quickly you need the book. Hell I will send these books to antarctica I just need some cash. :D

Well shipping it from the states will probably add so much cost to it that I can get it retail over here for the same price, I assume.

Actually I just checked USPS.com and I would only cost $5 for 4-6 day Global Priority Mail. I was surprised at its low cost, and double checked it. Most all of my books fit into flat-rate envelopes which saves a TON of money.

Email more specific info on where I would ship it and I will get an exact amount.

Shit I just bought the Perl cookbook for 50 dollars a few months ago. I needed it though, so its OK.

I might want Practical C and Perl for System Administrators. I'm just down the coast in San Diego, so shipping shouldn't be too bad. I'll think about it, and get back to you.

Exactly. Let's keep the pdfs out of this thread from now on.

I don't support privacy in this thread... I just think there are people who cannot afford these books so if they really want it I can do sth about it...

I haven't paste any link....
