|
|
Just ran
and at the end ran,
Code: | # /usr/X11R6/bin/xf86config |
That appeared to go well, same as my previous box. But when i went to do
the following came back to me.
Code: | linuxws root# startx
bash: startx: command not found |
ok easy enough. startx is not in the path. so i edited /etc/env.d/00basic to reflect the path and root path as the normal but with :/usr/X11R6/bin at the end. then i did
Code: | # env-update
# startx |
same error. did i miss something? _________________ --

A file named /etc/env.d/10xfree should already exist with PATH=/usr/X11R6/bin

You have to exit from the current shell and login again to reload your environment variables.
env-update just rebuilds your config files (like /etc/profile.env) but not changes your current variables. |
