Really terrible recording. Really promising tune.

Add my vote for making this the official Gentoo anthem...
maybe with a few tweaks to the lyrics, maybe another verse or two,
a guitar solo in the middle, and...

official translations into at least french, german, spanish and dutch,

Wouldn't it be fun to have

"Gentoo is finally here."

play every time you start Gnome/KDE?

and maybe chop some chords out for Gnome events. If I have time... I just emerged audacity...

Nice song Kristoffer. One more vote for integrating a part of it at Gnome/KDE start.

Hmmm, it's really something, unfortunately the quality is low... Ken would you be so kind as to work on the song a little more ? I'd be more than happy to provide gentoo users with a remix of the song for all the trance lovers out there :-)

Very good song, can you re-record it with a better quality?

Post the complete lyrics and chords too ;)

Cheers

Outstanding! Outstanding!

I don't know if you've done any work on it since it was first posted, but I wouldn't change a thing. I like that basement band sound.

Nice job dude , i couldn't have done better neither if i was sober

But if you don't mind i would suggest you to add some more rhytm and lyrics because it sounds a bit dull the way it is now.

for example have a listen to this song

and watch the video if you like (the video is a shorter version of the song).

the lyrics can be found here

cheers

Now OpenBSD is not the only OS with its own song(s). Good work!

Really? I didn't know Debian or FC had songs.

The though of a drunk Gates and a stoned
Balmer singing about Windows might make me barf!
Then again how about Jobs and Woz singing about apple?

Sweet! Ken has my vote! Just one question though, did you run this through a sound editor of some kind to mess with your voice? I think that this is a killer idea, now would it be too much trouble to rerecord this with the mike closer to your mouth and/or singing louder?

Yeah, don't drink for the reasons Slecter said, and because it taste bad! 8O

In fact, in keeping with the open source tradition, can you post all the equiment, voice effects etc. etc. that you used - and can gentoo.org host it on this site for us all to improve on - with a CVS for enhanced (and approved) versions?

Here's why: I think it would be really, really cool to tinker with the lyrics, mess with the guitar track(s), add some punchy drums (but only half-way through) and some soft keyboards. The vocals have a truly haunting quality that need to be kept, but I, for one, would like it to sound a bit more Pink Floyd-ish in that the song needs to crescendo.

Hey, the Pink Floyd's 'cause I'm an old fart, OK?!!
