No. Have you done anything to it like to maybe use a different splash screen? |

I thought this happened to everyone when KDE 3 first came out... does it happen when you start x as a regular user and as root? if so, I think (correct me, someone) updating qt was the solution. This problem was semi-rampant in the betas... |

apparently if you don't have a sound card, the splash crashes or something to that nature... i know that was the case with my machine. do you have a sound card installed? |

Oh, was this the sound permission issue? I haven't really tried KDE3 out yet, but I remember lurking around the forums and seeing these issues... search the posts. Pretty much every question that can be asked about KDE 3 has been. |
