Will this hardware work for Gentoo: This will be my play system for OSes!
Abit BH6
Pentium II 333 or a Celeron 300a O/C'd to 450
256mb ram
8gig UDMA33 HD
TNT2 Ultra 32mb ram
Linksys network card
(no soundcard for now)
Hopefully the more I learn about Linux and what is going on under the hood... I will be able to switch from windows.
What is a good programming language to learn/start with for Linux? I have done some basic and have started some C++ (ugh).
I have been reading posts to the forum for awhile and it seems like everyone is supportive and willing to help.

I would clock the CPU at its rated frequency. Compiling software is generally not kind to overclocked CPUs. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
