In the doc, there is the section on using tar to unpack the stage that was just downloaded. I must have the syntax wrong because tar keeps not finding the file. In the doc it says:
tar -xvjpf /path/to/stage?-*.tbz2
This is confusing. Do I actually enter this (no!) or fill in where the wildcard (*) is with my filename? (tried this, although I made have made a typo) If so, what to change in this line?
The file I downloaded was:
stage3-i686_athlon.xp-1.4_rc1.tar.bz2
could someone please tell me what exactly to type here? Thanks. |

Wildcards would probably work. Are you typing /path/to/ before the stage part? /path/to/ should be full path to where you saved the stage file. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

if u used lynx/wget to get the tar then u type #tar xvjpf stage(use tab complete from ur keyboard)
if u get the stage 1 out of the cd then u put the path to the cd
its very easy
