lo and behold... IDE is still shit and the lag bug is still in there... I'm very unimpressed. I'll just stick with 2.4.18. |

I have installed, alsa operational, sensors fully working, everythings great.
It even feels a little faster at that, which is a good thing in my book. (maybe the changes they made effected some of the aspects of my particular system)
Looking at the ChangeLog, it appears they've made a BUNCH of small changes. |

Nobody seems to know the real cause of it, but the IDE merge seems to be it. It's just a horrible horrible bug, if you want to know more ask Marc-Christian Peterson of the WOLK project, he seems to know a lot about combatting it.
A while ago I chatted with mjc about fixing it in the entoo-sources, he mentioned that the bug seemed less fatal in the -ac kernels, and certain people mentioned that the rmap VM was better at handling the load types that causes this. |

hehe.... first day out there was a bug RE-report on ext3 corruption at unmount time. Now I said re-report, because this bug was actually reported pre 2.4.19-final.
I smell a 2.4.21 release within a few days.... |
