|
|
I've got a problem with mplayer - though games and xmms have sound working just fine - when I play something (anything) in mplayer I get no audio. The same goes for xawtv now that I think about it (not normally a problem - that's just used an input for my ps2 which is otherwise wired straight into my speakers).
I've got a soundblaster live platinum 5.1...and I'm just running off the kernel module for sound. Anyone know what mplayer (and apparently xawtv) are looking for and not finding soundwise? _________________ Sign of Apocalypse:

Perhaps the VIDEO volume is down, or muted? Check your mixer's settings. Or try rasing the volume on mplayer. _________________ Lego my ego, and I'll lego your knowledge

You probably don't have the correct sound driver selected. You'd want something like 'mplayer -ao oss/alsa/...'
Try looking through the documentation untril you come across a sound driver that works. |

If the games work fine, then I'll bet OSS or OSS emulation, is beeing used, therefore mplayer shouldn't have any problem at all playing the sound wihtout any switches required. _________________ Lego my ego, and I'll lego your knowledge

mplayer requires a little push sometimes something along the lines of:
Code: | mplayer -ao oss:/dev/dsp1 |
should work for you |
